Just outside of the capital Colombo, there is a beautiful whitewashed old-world colonial style hotel surrounded by palm tress & mangroves, leading to a pristine & secluded private beach with breathtaking sunsets & views to the Indian Ocean. This was the location of Laura & Dilhan’s beautiful late-evening destination beach wedding, which was a fusion of the couple’s backgrounds & cultures (Dlihan being originally from Sri Lanka & Laura being British). This wedding was so heartwarming & wonderful. From all the homespun details such as the cute handmade bouquets made from ribbon & buttons to the delicate Sri Lankan marriage rituals that were woven into the ceremony. The scenery of course, can only speak for itself; we were blessed with the most breathtaking sunset & perfect weather to go with it. There were so many special moments at this wedding…but perhaps the highlight was the magical moment we stumbled upon some baby turtles hatching on the beach that we were able to escort safely & release to the sea (yes, this really did happen!) What an experience. I left Sri Lanka with my heart full <3 Thank you Laura & Dilhan for inviting me to share in your amazing adventure x x
